Child Support Interactive

The State of Texas has started an online web based service called Child Support Interactive (CSI).
CSI’s mission is to help custodial and noncustodial parents through the Texas child support process and payments.

Once child support payment amounts are set by a court of law, both parents may use this service to: make payments, check the status of their case, change their address, request a payment history or request an income verification. The CSI service is part of the overall Child Support Program of the Office of the Attorney General.

Child Support Program

The general Child Support Program can help parents with child support issues in many ways. It has services to help with: locating an absent parent, establishing paternity, establishing and enforcing child support orders, establishing and enforcing medical support orders, reviewing and adjusting support payments, and collecting and distributing payments.(Learn more about child support calculators and child support laws)

Besides these child support services the program also provides classes such as noncustodial parent involvement and shared parenting to help parents adjust to their new parenting situation.  Many of your questions may also be answered under their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section where the state provides PDF files in both English and Spanish for many of the most common questions asked by parents.

If you pay child support payments and your income situation changes due to an event such as the loss of your job there is a calculator available online through the Child Support Program which can help you calculate if your case may qualify for a modification.

This Monthly Child Support Calculator is easy to use. You simply enter your income, any mandated medical support payments and your current child support payments. Based on a state supported algorithm the calculator will let you know if your case may be reviewed and modified.

It would then be up to you to petition the court, probably through your lawyer, to have your case reviewed and potentially modified based on your new situation.

The state of Texas provides numerous services for families of divorce. If you are newly divorced or have been divorced for years you owe it to yourself to check out their resources.

They even have an online worksheet to help you figure out how to survive a recession. If you are new to child support payments or need to know more information about your current payments, Child Support Interactive will help you navigate the system as well as make your payments through direct deposit. The Texas Office of the Attorney General has worked hard to make your child support experience as simple as possible so make sure to take advantage of the services provided.
